There are two bodies of writing on this site and they do different jobs. The guides — these pages — answer a question once and stay put. The Glenwood Journal is longer, written by Brian in the first person, and closer to thinking aloud than to reference.
Where to start
If you are trying to decide something specific:

Everything in both sets is fenced the same way: any claim about this house restates something already published, and where a fact is missing the writing says so rather than guessing. That is why there are no prices in the Journal.
