Glenwood South Bespoke Tailor

The Glenwood Guide — Editorial

Brands We Work On

We are a maker, not a retailer — so this is the list of houses whose garments come through the workroom.

We do not stock or sell other houses. What we do is work on them — and after enough years of opening expensive jackets up, the label turns out to tell you far less than the construction does.

The houses that come through most

We alter and restore garments from any house, including:

  • Brioni
  • Canali
  • Tom Ford
  • Kiton
  • Isaia
  • Zegna
  • Armani
  • Hugo Boss

New high-end designer suiting takes fifteen percent off the tailoring. If you have just bought something good, that is the moment it is cheapest to make it fit — and the moment it is most worth doing, because the work goes into a garment nobody has worn out of shape yet.

What we will not take

Fast fashion. Amazon, H&M, Shein and the like fall outside our expertise and outside what we are willing to put the workroom's time into. It is arithmetic rather than snobbery: the work costs the same either way, and on those garments it will outlast the thing it was done to.

We will also tell you when a good label is not worth the work. A canvassed jacket with generous inlay will repay altering for years; a fused jacket cut two sizes wrong will not, whatever is stitched inside the pocket.
