4 TIPS FOR THE ANXIOUS BRIDE-TO-BE

As if planning a wedding wasn’t stressful enough, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has brought an entirely new source of stress and anxiety for the bride-to-be. Fortunately, your friends at Glenwood South Tailor and Alterations are here to help with four tips for making your big day meet your every expectation.

GOOD COMMUNICATION IS THE BRIDGE BETWEEN CONFUSION AND CLARITY

  • Talk with your fiance about your expectations and what you both want, particularly in light of COVID-19-based policy changes. Look, we’re hardly the first outlet to highlight the magical power of communicating with your partner. However, intimate and transparent communication is more important now than ever before. Talk with your partner about what’s important to them in light of social distancing; do they desire to be surrounded by friends and family to share their wedding with, or are they more concerned with tying the knot and celebrating with friends and family once COVID-19 has subsided? Regardless of their priorities, it’s important to be on the same page and aware of your partners’ desires.
  • So, you’ve talked to your partner and now it’s time to move forward; what next? Hire a wedding planner, or reach out to the planner with whom you’re currently working and discuss your goals. Two of a wedding planners greatest assets are their ability to organize chaos to produce a refined end product, and an endless network of connections; both of which will make your life much easier as you can rely on your wedding planner to be a steadying presence who knows the right people for the job. We have had the privilege to work with several fabulous planners, and we’ll link their info below this post.
  • Secure your wedding license. I mean, may as well make it official, right? With so many changes happening each and every day in response to COVID-19, there’s no way of knowing exactly what the future holds, and it’s important to go ahead and knock out the little things while they’re easily accomplished. Many government agencies have already begun altering their processes and hours to stem the COVID-19 pandemic, so our advice is to not wait around and get your wedding license when you’re able.
  • Finally, don’t forget the honeymoon! What’s a huge party with all of your favorite people without a beautiful getaway to cap it off? Be sure to check with your airline, destination accommodations/lodging, restaurants, and any activities to check on their status and ensure you’re able to proceed as you had planned. This is largely going to vary by destination, as a honeymoon in the Caribbean is naturally going to be much easier to work with relative to a trip to Europe or Asia.
