About The House

Glenwood South Bespoke Tailor was founded in 2015 and sits at 745 W. Johnson Street, in the Glenwood South district a few minutes from downtown Raleigh. The building holds the whole operation — the shopfloor, the fitting rooms, the pattern table and the workroom behind it. Nothing is sent out.

Who runs it

Brian Burnett, founder and master tailor, who has over 10,000 hours of fitting and wardrobe design and over a decade dressing North Carolina's leaders. He oversees the higher-end garments himself, and every commission passes his eye before it leaves the workroom. Mara works the pattern table.

Brian personally works with 85% of bespoke, high-profile and comprehensive wardrobe clients. Where a project needs his direct engagement without falling into those categories, a Master Clothier fee applies at his discretion.

Who it is for

The house is built around a clientele that values a consultative approach — professionals and soon-to-be professionals — rather than around volume. That is deliberate, and it is what makes it possible to keep training the team and improving the service rather than simply taking more in.

It also means we are not the right answer for everybody, and we would rather say so early than discover it late. Simple mending and corrective work on previously tailored garments is no longer taken on.
